Import Changes to Your Medical Records ( posted on Feb 18, 2014 )

GP practices across England will soon be required to supply patients’ personal and confidential medical information on a regular and continuous basis, to the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC). This is not to be confused with General Practice Extration Service (GPES) which you will need to opt out of separately.

The Contraception Clinic provides high quality care for those women wishing to consider contraceptive implants or coils. Clinic, run by Dr. Lucy Cox.


The clinic runs at the practice on Monday evenings 6:00 - 8:00pm - appointments must be booked via reception - call 01883 331900 and press '2' for Appointments - where they will add your name to the list and Sarah Desmond, Clinic Co-ordinator, will contact you to book an appointment with Dr Cox.

Seasonal Flu Vaccinations ( posted on Aug 22, 2011 )


For most people, seasonal flu is unpleasant but not serious and they recover within a week. However some people at greater risk of developing serious complications of flu, including bronchitis and pneumonia.

These conditions may require hospital treatment. A large number of elderly people die from flu every winter.

The seasonal flu vaccine is offered free of charge to at-risk groups to protect them from catching flu and developing serious complications.


Eligible patients for the seasonal flu vaccine:

  • All patients over 65 years
  • Pregnant women
  • Carers
  • Patients under 65 who have one of the following conditions:
  • Asthma
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Chronic obstructive heart disease
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Diabetes
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Polio
  • Stroke/Transient Ischaemic Attack
  • Weakened or suppressed immune system

Information for the 2015 Flu Clinics will be provided from August 2015 on our website and at the surgery.

Do you need help to stop smoking? We can help!!


We have an in-house Smoking Cessation clinic which runs on Thursday afternoons.


Studies show that your chances of success will be greatly improved if you get advice and support from health care professionals to help you stop smoking.


The services we offer from the Practice can:

  • Boost your willpower to stop smoking
  • Concentrate your efforts by getting advice from someone who knows your medical background
  • Help you feel that you’re not doing it alone
  • Help you to cope when you are tempted to smoke
  • Monitor improvements to your health so that you can see the benefits

You should now have received a letter informing you about your Summary Care Record (SCR).

At first, your SCR will contain information about your medicines, any allergies you may have and any bad reactions to medicines. Over time, further details about significant health problems, summaries of your care and the professionals treating you may be added.

If you require further information about your SCR, please click here.


If you wish your SCR to be created, you need do nothing.

If you do not wish for your SCR to be created, you must tell us and complete an opt-out form. You can obtain an opt-out form from us at the surgery or by downloading one from the NHS Care Records website.

As a patient, you have choices - you can opt out/back in at any time and discuss what further details are uploaded with your GP.

Please use your NHS number (at the top of your letter from NHS Surrey) in all correspondence with us - using your NHS number to identify you correctly is an important step towards improving the safety of your healthcare. NHS staff will begin to ask for your NHS number more often, so please make a note of it and keep it in a safe place

Appointments are now available outside our normal working hours, on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday morning.


These appointments are available up to two weeks in advance and MUST be booked in advance.
