We are particularly keen on preventive medicine and offer the following clinics with the aim of maintaining good health for all our patients.

Antenatal Clinics
Thurday & Friday afternoons - appointment via reception.
These clinics monitor the progress of your pregnancy and are run by the community midwife.
Booking-in Clinic (Pregnancy)
Thursday afternoons- appointment via reception.
Meet your Community Midwife and start planning your care throughout your pregnancy in this clinic, which provides access to all maternity services.

Child Development Clinic
Thursday mornings - appointment via reception or by invitation.
Dr Woolner provides these health checks for your child at the age of Eight weeks, with their first immunisations. If you haven't been invited, please enquire at reception. 

Child Immunisation Clinics
Weekly - appointment via reception or by invitation.
Our practice nurses run thes clinic to immunise babies and children against childhood infections and offer advice.

 
Contraception Clinic
This clinic is run by Dr. Lucy Cox, who specialises in contraceptive implants and coils.To arrange an appointment please give your name and contact details to reception who will pass them on to Dr. Cox. Please remember to state whether you are agreeable to a message being left on your answer phone, should you not be available.
 
Diabetic Clinics
Run on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - appointment via reception or by invitation.
These clinics are run by our Specialist Diabetic Nurse - Viv Mckenna, who specialises in the care of patients diagnosed with diabetes.

INR (Warfarin) Clinics
Twice weekly (Monday and Wednesday) - appointment via reception or our practice nurses.
Run by our practice nurses, this clinic monitors patients on Warfarin. A blood test is carried out during the consultation and the result is immediately available. A member of our district nurse team will visit those patients who for medical reasons cannot attend the surgery.

Minor Surgery
Appointment via a doctor or nurse practitioner.
Run by practice doctors in our minor operations room, these appointments are for minor surgical procedures eg skin biopsies, removal of moles, cysts etc. Please see a doctor or nurse to discuss anything you might like operated on to assess the most suitable procedure for you.

Cryotherapy
Appointment via doctor
A doctor can treat minor skin lesions with liquid nitrogen in this clinic. Please see the doctor to establish whether this is suitable for you.

Respiratory Disease Clinics (Asthma/COPD)
Appointment via reception.
These clinics, for patients aged five years of age and over, are run by our practice nurses who specialise in the care of patients diagnosed with respiratory disease. Please make an appointment at reception for patients under the age of five to be seen by a doctor.


Travel Clinics

The Practice is only able to offer limited travel advice relating to the following NHS vaccines:

  • Diphtheria, Polio and Tetanus
  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid *Typhim Vi)

You can access one of the deicated travel clinic listed below, (or check the internet for alternative clinics), to receive a more comprehensive consultation and considertation of other vaccines that you may require for your travels:

Women's Health Clinics (Family Planning And Smear Clinics)
Appointment via reception
Qualified practice nurses run these clinics in conjunction with our Practice Doctors offering:
  • General contraceptive advice
  • Oral contraception
  • Depo-Provera (progesterone only) injection
  • Emergency contraception
  • Coil Checking
  • Breast awareness training
  • Hormone replacement therapy
  • Cervical smears
