We are particularly keen on preventive medicine and offer the following clinics with the aim of maintaining good health for all our patients.

 Booking-in Clinic (Pregnancy)

Thursday afternoons- appointment via reception.
Meet your Community Midwife and start planning your care throughout your pregnancy in this clinic, which provides access to all maternity services.

Antenatal Clinics
Thurday & Friday afternoons - appointment via reception.
These clinics monitor the progress of your pregnancy and are run buy the community midwife.


Contraception Clinic

These clinics are run by Dr. Lucy Cox, Dr Vohra & Dr Newbon who specialise in contraceptive implants and coils.To arrange an appointment please pass your name and contact details to reception who will pass them on to to Sarah Desmond who co-ordinates these appointments. Please remember to state whether you are agreeable to a message being left on your answer phone, should you not be available.


Diabetic Clinic

These clinics are run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays by our Specialist Diabetic Nurse - Vivien McKenna, who specialises in the care of patients diagnosed with diabetes.


INR (Warfarin) Clinics

Twice weekly (Monday and Wednesday) - appointment via reception or via our practice nurses.
This this clinic monitors our patients on Warfarin. A blood test is carried out during the consultation and the result is immediately available. A member of our district nurse team will visit those patients who for medical reasons cannot attend the surgery.

Minor Surgery
Appointment via a doctor or nurse practitioner Run by practice doctors in our minor operations room, these appointments are for minor surgical procedures eg skin biopsies, removal of moles, cysts etc. Please see a doctor or nurse to discuss anything you might like operated on to assess the most suitable procedure for you.


Cryotherapy
Wednesday evenings.
A Doctor can treat minor skin conditions with liquid nitrogen in this clinic. Please see a Doctor to establish whether this is suitable for you.

Respiratory Disease Clinics (Asthma & COPD)

Appointment via reception.

These clinics, for patients aged five years and over are run by our practice nurse who specialises in the care of patients diagnosed with respiratory disease. Please make an appointment for children under five to be seen by a Doctor.


Travel Clinics (service currently unavailable)

 

The Practice is only able to offer limited travel advice relating to the following vaccines:

 

- Diptheria, Polio and Tetanus

- Hepatitis A

- Typhoid

 

You can access one of the dedicated travel clinics listed below (or check the internet for alternative clinics) to receive a more comprehensive consultation and consideration of other vaccines that you may require for your travels.

Women's Health Clinics (Family Planning and Smears)

Appointment via reception.

Our Practice Nurses run these clinics in conjunction with the Practice Doctors offering:

 

- General contraceptive advice

- Oral contraception

- Depo Provera (progesterone only) injection

- Emergency contraception

- Coil checks

- Breast awareness

- Hormone replacement therapy

- Cervical screening (smears)
